Olga Aru was born in Eastern Ukraine and grew up in Kyiv. She’s an alumnus of the renowned state ballet academy in Kyiv. Since graduation, she worked in professional dance theaters for 16 years internationally performing as a first and second soloist in Silesian State Opera, Cairo National Opera and Aleph Dance Company. Such experience influenced her versatility as a creative performer and shaped her vision as a dance educator and a choreographer.
She is also Founding Artistic Director of Aru Dell’Arte Dance Company. She believes that artistry goes beyond physical performance and uses the movement itself, as an additional tool of story telling. Deep, emotional choreography which resonates with the audiences on various levels.
Aru Dell’Arte offers a professional ballet experience that engages audiences and elevates professional dancers. We are dedicated to implementing a twenty-first-century perspective that broadens diversity within the world of ballet. We offer a professional, nurturing environment that educates and supports local talent in the greater Washington DC and DMV Area.
